Carl Zeiss Jena first quality (1Q) Nobilem Spezial 12X50B binoculars in Excellent ++ condition in leather case. Fully multicoated Porro 1 design with huge prisms in shelves (like the Bausch & Lomb classic design, where you drop the prism shelves from the ocular side not the classic Zeiss design where the prisms go in from both sides). As most connoisseurs know, the Nobilem Super (8X50B) and Spezial were Carl Zeiss Jena's statement to the world that they were still the best. Unfortunately these models cost so much to produce they lost money on them so they were short lived, to be replaced by the lower cost Octarem and Dodecarem which were eventually renamed Nobilem after a few years and were joined by the 7X50B (Nobilem or Navidoc) and 10X50B initially and later by the 8X56B and 15X60B. The Nobilem name was carried over after Docter took over the company after the reunification of Germany. This particular binocular is in excellent condition as seen with minimal paint loss and no noticeable dents. Optically like new. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face the first time you look through them.
