B&H put together the NexStar 6SE 150mm f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope WiFi Kit to allow you to directly control the mount via your smartphone or tablet running a free app for Android and iOS.

  • Celestron NexStar 6SE 150mm f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope
    • NexStar SE

Celestron's NexStar 6SE 150mm f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope is a powerful, portable, and user-friendly Schmidt-Cassegrain-style scope that can be used for observing everything from the Moon and planets to deep-sky objects like stars, galaxies, and nebulae. Using Celestron's proprietary StarBright XLT multi-coating system, light transmission is increased throughout the entire optical path with anti-reflection multi-coated lenses, highly reflective multi-coated mirrors, and crown optical glass elements. While the focal ratio is a relatively slow f/10, the mount's precision tracking system allows it to be a competent shorter-exposure astrophotography imaging platform for the Moon and planets.

Driving the dual servo motors on the mount is the brain of the NexStar 6SE: the iconic NexStar+ computer hand controller. Packed with 40,000+ celestial objects, it can hold up to 100 additional user-defined destinations and is updatable via the Celestron website. It has multiple alignment procedures to get you observing fastincluding the super-easy SkyAlign system. Capable of being used in the Northern or Southern Hemispheres, the NexStar has sidereal, lunar, and solar tracking speeds to accurately follow near- and deep-sky objects, plus nine slew speeds and the ability to automatically trigger a camera's shutter release for Fastar or piggyback wide-field photography or conventional prime-focus astrophotography.

  • Celestron SkyPortal WiFi Module
    • NexStar SE

Transform your smartphone or tablet into a wireless controller for your computerized telescope with Celestron's SkyPortal WiFi Module. It plugs into the Hand Control or AUX port and begins to generate it's own WiFi signal to directly connect to your mobile device without the need for a router. Since it uses the telescope's power there are no batteries, plugs, or cables required.

The SkyPortal module works in conjunction with the free SkyPortal mobile app available for iOS and Android devices. The app features a database of over 100,000 objects with astroimages and audio descriptions of hundreds of them including the history, mythology, and key features of them. It can assist with the telescope alignment and if you hold the screen up to sky, it will identify the objects based on your location, date, and time. If you don't know what you want to look at, the SkyPortal app will take you on a guided tour.

  • Celestron Mars Observing Telescope Accessory Kit (1.25')
    • NexStar SE

Celestron assembled this 1.25' Mars Observing Telescope Accessory Kit for the 2018 Mars Opposition, but the filters assembled can be used at any time to view and photograph other planets such as Saturn and Jupiter, as well as the moon. Also included with the filters is the universal Barlow lens. This versatile accessory effectively doubles the magnification of any eyepiece used in it without affecting the exit pupil or eye reliefallowing for high-power observations without the discomfort of using short focal length eyepieces. The Barlow has standard T-mount threads on the end that accept optional camera-specific T-rings to mount just about any DSLR for astrophotography. To safely store and transport the filters and Barlow, Celestron includes a hard plastic storage case.

    Eyepiece Filters #80A Blue:

    • Helpful in studying surface features and polar caps
    • Most popular for the study of detail on Jupiter and Saturn
    • Enhances the contrast on Jupiter's cloud belts
    • Enhances details of the Great Red Spot
    • Brings out detail in Saturn's belts and polar features
    • Also very useful for lunar observing

    #56 Light Green:

    • Excellent for increased contrast of Martian polar caps, low clouds, and yellowish dust storms
    • Increases the contrast of the red and blue regions in Jupiter's atmosphere and cloud belts
    • Great for lunar observing

    #25 Red:

    • Reduces light from blue and green areas, which darkens the maria and oases, while lightening the orange-hued desert region; sharpens the boundaries of yellow dust clouds
    • Blocks the transmission of blue and green wavelengths
    • Sharply defines the contrast between the cloud formations and the lighter-toned surface features on Jupiter

    Barlow Lens

    • 1.25' eyepiece holder and barrel diameter
    • Effectively doubles the magnification of any eyepiece used with it
    • Threads on top accept optional standard camera-specific DSLR T-rings
