Celestron NexStar
8SE Bundle Description

You are bidding
on a Celestron NexStar 8SE Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope (SCT) used but in
near-perfect open box condition with many accessories included. Celestron’s
signature NexStar 8SE SCT telescope combines advanced features and excellent
optics in one easy-to-use system. The NexStar 8SE features Celestron’s iconic
“orange tube” design and is the perfect choice for your first serious telescope
offering striking views at an economical price.

The eight-inch
primary mirror in this computerized telescope packs enough light-gathering
ability to observe the best that our Solar System has to offer, from Saturn’s
rings to the cloud bands on Jupiter and geographic features on the surface of
the Moon. When it comes to deep sky objects, take your 8SE to a dark-sky site
and you’ll see hundreds of pinpoint stars in the Hercules Globular Cluster, the
spiral arms of the Whirlpool Galaxy, and more. Featuring a database of more
than 40,000 celestial objects, the 8SE’s GoTo mount automatically locates and
tracks objects for you. You can also take a Sky Tour and let your telescope
show you the best objects currently visible. The single fork arm design and
sturdy steel tripod all assemble and break down from separate components for
easy transportation. SkyAlign technology gets your telescope aligned and ready
to observe in minutes. Even if you’re unfamiliar with the night sky, you can
easily align your telescope on any 3 bright objects. Here is what is included

Celestron Power

For any Celestron
computerized telescope. Now you can take your telescope anywhere with this
portable rechargeable power supply. Whether you have a computerized telescope
or operate your telescope using motors, Celestron specially designed this
product with the amateur astronomer in mind. Not only useful for setting up and
powering your scope, this model can also be useful as an emergency roadside
accessory as it includes an emergency light, and booster terminals in place to
start weak car batteries.

Celestron vibration suppression pads ($49)

These go under your tripod legs to stabilize your telescope and
prevent unwanted shaking.

Made with Sorbothane only available in the USA. Engineered by
Celestron specifically to dampen vibrations. Works on any surface.

Thousand Oaks
Solar Filter ($109)

You need this if you plan to observe the sun. Fits Celestron and 8"
Schmidt Cassegrain and instruments of similar outer diameter. The filter fits
like a cap by friction. SolarLite filters have the optical quality of the glass
with the advantages of impregnated polymer (Thousand Oaks Optical Black
Polymer). The sun will appear in a natural yellow-orange color when viewed
through your telescope using this filter. This is a high quality product of
Thousand Oaks Optical (Arizona), a manufacturer of safe solar filters for over
30 years. Words of the producer: "Stronger than any other solar film on
the market. Safe for 15 years."

This combination focal reducer and field corrector lens accessory makes
it possible to have a dual focal ratio instrument, without sacrificing image
quality. The Reducer/Corrector is f/6.3 for the Celestron NexStar 8SE telescope.

Celestron 9x50
Right Angle Correct Image (RACI) Finder ($99)

The Celestron
9x50 Right Angle Correct Image (RACI) Illuminated Finder is a great upgrade to
the stock finderscopes found on many Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. The 50mm
optics produce bright, sharp images with a magnification of 9X and a 5º
apparent field of view. Meanwhile, the right-angle, correct-image design keeps
objects right-side up and left-to-right correct, making it easier to locate
objects as well as track them as they drift through the field of view. The
eyepiece module can be rotated left or right so you can find the perfect
viewing angle. The double-crosshair reticle etched in the eyepiece makes it
easy to center an object, whether you are aligning your computerized telescope
or finding deep-sky objects on your own. The reticle can be focused separate
from the finder itself. A battery-powered illuminator lights up the crosshair
with a soft, red glow, and the illumination can be easily adjusted by turning
the on/off knob. The Celestron 9x50 RACI Finder comes with a sturdy bracket
consisting of two rings and an integrated dovetail. Adjusting the alignment of
the finder is easy with the oversized thumbscrews. The dovetail allows for easy
attachment to and removal from the Celestron NexStar 8SE Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope.

Baader Solar
Continuum Filter ($99)

The Baader Solar Continuum Filter is a 10nm
bandpass with CWL 540nm used to improve solar observation. Enhances contrast
and reduces the effect of atmospheric turbulence. Planeoptically polished,
non-ageing sealed coating edges.
