A recent change to a German Equatorial mount has caused me to have this fantastic mount and goto system collecting dust in my closet, which is a true crime.
This is the rare and truly exceptional version of the Celestron Ultima 8 mount that includes the heavy-duty, high-precision worm drive and the invaluable ability to program the periodic error correction (PEC), allowing flawless very long-exposure astro-photos to be taken (I took exposures over 1.5 hours in duration with no issues, manually using an off-axis guider with minimal correction).
This unit was well cared-for and is in perfect working order. I will also include the attached declination motor, hand controller, & AC adapter. When I bought this setup secondhand a few years ago, I paid almost $800.
In addition, since it is already installed, I will also include my beloved JMI NGC MaxGoTo computer system, which alone cost $750, and is also in perfect working order.
In the interest of selling quickly, I am asking only $500 O.B.O. plus $30 towards ground shipping for this whole system that retailed new for close to $2000.
Check my feedback and buy with confidence.
This is a picture of the mount from Uncle Rod's SCT blog; I will upload pics of my mount with the NGC-Max installed this evening as soon as I get home.
Also please be sure to check out my other items (heavy-duty equatorial wedge) to accompany this mount and build a complete astrophotography package.
