I am selling a Unitron tube cradle with locking thumb nuts for Unitron 75mm refractors or telescopes with similar sized telescope tubes. This is probably from the mid-fifties based on the information I have regarding its origin. The condition is very good, and as usual with Unitron, the quality and workmanship is superb.
This cradle has a thin machined flat plate underneath the main cradle structure, designed to capture the Unitron countersunk mounting bolts (included), which may or may not be original. I have not seen these plates on later era Unitron cradles, so I am not sure if it is original (it is also hard to tell today as there was considerable variation in small features such as this on Unitron product from their early years).
The cradle works beautifully with any Unitron 75mm (except their folded refractors) and on any Unitron 3" mount, at least that I am aware of (and I own two). Of course it can also be adapted to many other mounts by those handy with metal working tools.
Sold as is and as shown!
