60mm refractor made by Emil Busch, Rathenow around 1900. Rare and unique School telescope.

A school telescope is historical telescope with a table top mount. Originally used in German schools.

Emil Busch started making telescopes in 1872 as Emil Busch – AG. It got its optical glass from Zeiss.

In 1908 the company was renamed Emil Busch AG Optische Industrie;
from around the same time Busch products were badged ROJA (Rathanower
Optische Institute) or Roia

This is a really beautiful refractor. The lens is in perfect condition.

It’s a fine telescope for the collector or the serious observer who’s looking for an exceptional observing experience.

I’ve tested the scope and it gives very sharp images. It’s a pleasure to use it.

The focuser is smooth and precise

The telescope and mount have usual signs of age

One of the clamps is damaged but the telescope is well attached to the mount
