Has anybody bought a meade etx 90 telescope? UK?
I am looking to spend about £300 any ideas websites etc thanks
I once owned the original ETX90 telescope. Its excellent optics helped a lot to get me back into astronomy, but eventually I became frustrated by its poor mount, poor focuser, and poor finder scope, but, most of all, by its small aperture. 90mm is just too small to provide ongoing satisfaction -- you need at least 150mm for satisfying views of the planets and deep sky objects.

You'll get the greatest value for your money with a Newtonian reflector on a Dobsonian mount, such as these:

Buy from a store which specializes in telescopes and astronomy, either locally or online; don't buy from department stores, discount stores or eBay as mostly what they sell is junk. Find your local astronomy club and try out different telescopes at one of their star parties:
