Meade LX200-12inch Telescope F/10 With Auto Smartdrive with PPEC

Overview

LX200- YOUR PERSONAL WINDOW TO THE UNIVERSE
The Meade LX200-models are extremely versatile, high-resolution telescopes.With pushbutton controls, precision GPS alignment, true-level and North electronicsensors, automatic tracking of celestial objects, periodic error correction for both axes,and a library of 145,000+objects in the Smart Drive ProgramBox for database, the LX200-modelsoffer unmatched state-of-the-art performance.Note: The LX200 12" are equipped with Series 4000 26mm Super Plössl eyepiece and a 1.25” Diagonal. The LX200 equipped with Series 5000 26mm 5-element Super Plössl eyepiece, 2"Diagonal and the Zero Image-Shift Microfocuser.Observe the feather structure of an eagle from 50 yards or study the rings of theplanet Saturn from a distance of 800 million miles. Focus beyond the Solar System onancient star clusters, remote galaxies, and stars recently discovered to have planetsorbiting about them. Meade LX200-telescopes are capable of growing with yourinterest and can meet the requirements of the most demanding advanced observer.
Pernament Periodic Error Correction (PPEC Training)If you wish to perform high-precision astrophotography, you may wish to “train” yourtelescope in order to keep objects that you are imaging dead center in the telescope’smirror during the photographic exposure. Pernament  Periodic error correction (PPEC) helps toremove the slight perturbations from center that occur due to the mechanical nature of a telescope. To perform this procedure, you need to use a high-power reticle, suchas the 9mm reticle. PPEC training is available for both drives
THE LX200 KEYPAD HAND CONTROLLER
Designed to make you a better astronomer, the integration of optics, mechanics, electronics, and software in the LX200 Maksutov Cassegrain or Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope is easily mastered. So easy, in fact that the telescope becomes a natural extension of the observer. The LX200 gives you virtually every telescope function possible with every control in a compact hand held console. The red LCD backlit keypad has tactile touch buttons (some of which are brighter than others), designed to have the right feel even if you wear gloves. Its red LCD backlit display, key arrangement, and easy to understand information allow you to focus the telescope and your mind on the subject at hand. The LX200 keypad hand controller is a dual axis drive corrector with periodic error control; an information display center for the
computerized library; a digital coordinate readout system; a pulsing, illuminated reticle eyepiece brightness controller; a two speed electric focuser controller, and a red LED flashlight! You will find within a few minutes of powering up the LX200 that the keypad becomes warm, which is normal for the system. The electronics utilize a heat sink as a means to provide the correct operating environment temperature for the LCD display even in sub-zero weather. If you are in these colder conditions, the display may not be visible until the keypad has transferred enough heat. This process can take a few minutes upon powering up the telescope. While severe cold weather is not damaging to the electronics, it is advised to keep the keypad in a warmer area to allow immediate proper display performance.

MEADE Pictor CCD Sutogider/CCD Cameras Pictor 416XT

Professional-level imaging performance.
Armed with the powerful new Kodak KAF-0401E bluesensitive
microchip, the Pictor 416XTE is one of the most
advanced CCD systems ever made available at under
$5000.
The 416XTE includes more than four times the pixel
quantity, more than twice the pixel density, and about onetenth
the dark current of some competing units. The result
is high-resolution images of the Moon, planets, and deepspace
with amateur telescopes that match or exceed the
photographic images obtained with many observatory
telescopes. The Pictor 416XTE is the amateur
astronomer’s dream of fast, professional-level imaging
capability on the full range of celestial subjects.
Notwithstanding the enormous data collection power of the
416XTE, the system’s standard-equipment SCSI interface
enables full-frame download to its host computer in one
second, permitting virtually real-time object acquisition,
focusing, and centering.

Specifications: Pictor 416XTE Autoguider/Imager—Includes autoguider/
imager head with 1.25" barrel for insertion to standard eyepieceholder;
control box with digital readout display, keypad, and directional
buttons; SCSI interface; connector cord to telescope’s phone-jack CCD
autoguider inlet or to optional #520 Electronic Relay; special thin cable for
connection between CCD head and control box; operates from 12v DC;
includes 25 ft. power cord for operation from 12v DC auto cigarette lighter
plug; instruction manual. #542 Adapter for operation from 115v AC
available optionally.
