Mr. Chitwood passed, and I bought this beauty from his estate.  It is in Immaculate Condition.  Works like a dream and viewing through this scope is amazing.

So why am I selling it?  I have wanted one of these for over 25 years and I bought this one last year. I have had it out just a few times and to tell you the truth I am no good at finding things with it using the setting circles.

My first scope was a 10” Meade LX-200 go to scope that once aligned would go to anything I wanted to see by simply entering the name in the hand held controller.  I then got a bad case of Aperture Fever and sold the 10” in order to get a 12” Meade LX-200.  When that did not satisfy my quest for more light I got a 14” Mede LX-200 and then I discovered that at my age manhandling that beast was enough to keep me from taking it out into the field.  Literally it is a 2-man job to set up the 14” on the giant field tripod with the wedge mounted on it.  So I sold out and when I saw Mr. Chitwood’s scope come up for sale I just had to have it since I could now afford it.

After my 5thvisit to our viewing site outside of Spencer, Tennessee, (we called it STARBASE). I decided that a manual scope is simply not for me at my age.  The Autoguid 2 works great but I just do not like a manually finding targets with a manually guided scope.

When I sell this one, I will get me a new 10” Meade LX 650, that is not only a GO TO scope it is also self aligning.

You can see from the photos that this is a beautiful scope and will be loved for many years to come.
