Roof Prism Binocular

What do the numbers mean in Binocular descriptions?

I am going to South Affica later in the year and plan on doing at least one safari.
I would like a really good pair of Binoculars but don't understand the numbers. i.e:
10 x 42 Roof Prism Binoculars
8 x 21 Binoculars
LX 8 x 42 Binoculars

The first number 10x and 8x is the magnification of the binoculars. 10x will make the images appear 10 times larger than normal and 8x will be 8 times larger.

The second number is the size of the objective lens in millimeters. The larger the lens is the more light the binocular lets in and the brighter the image appears.
