More accurate polar alignment of Polarie! Improved peripheral image and improved visibility!

The polar axis can be easily aligned with accuracy within 3 arcmins by introducing the North Star and two nearby stars (total 3) at the specified position of the built-in scale *.

The polar axis can be easily adjusted with high precision by inserting it into the starry sky panoraie. The newly designed eyepiece lens improves the peripheral image of the field of view and improves the visibility of stars and scales.

* For the Northern Hemisphere. For the Southern Hemisphere, the three stars in the quadrant are also matched.

What is a polar axis telescope?

Hoshizora Yudai Polarie is a device that tracks and shoots the stars by rotating the mounted camera in accordance with the diurnal motion of the stars.

The star appears to rotate once a day around an axis centered on the celestial north pole, so it works correctly by aligning the polariary axis of rotation with the celestial north pole. In particular, when shooting with a long focal length, such as a telephoto lens, or when shooting with a long exposure, it is necessary to adjust the focus accurately. A distinctive array of stars can be seen near the celestial North Pole, so you can use it to know the exact celestial North Pole direction.

The polar-axis telescope is a small telescope used toward the celestial north pole, and has a built-in special scale that describes the position of a characteristic star that is visible near the celestial north pole. By adjusting the orientation of the Polari's rotation axis (polar axis) so that the specified star fits in the specified position on the scale, the polar axis can be set easily with an accuracy within 3 arcmins *.

* About stars used for polar axis setting. For the Northern Hemisphere, use the North Star and two nearby stars. In the Southern Hemisphere, we use the three stars in the quintile to match the celestial Antarctic.

Consolidate information on the built-in scale for comfortable settings

Since the position information of the stars used for polar axis alignment is integrated on the built-in scale, there is no need to read the time scale on the outside of the conventional polar axis telescope at a dark observation site. It can be used comfortably while looking at the field of view of the polar axis telescope.

Dark field illumination (with automatic extinguishing function)

Built-in dark field illumination (red LED) that lights up easily at the touch of a button. Unlike the bright-field lighting system, which brightens the field of view and looks at the scale as a silhouette, the scale itself glows red, so dark stars are not buried behind the scenes. Since the brightness is variable in 8 steps, it can be used at preferred brightness. Furthermore, it automatically turns off in 1-2 minutes (it gradually fades out), so you can prevent forgetting to turn it off after use.

Can be used by simply plugging it into Polarie

Simply remove the Polare back lid and pan head base and plug in. It can be used immediately.

Magnification / Diameter / Real field of view: 5 times 20mm (Real field of view 10 degrees)

Scale pattern: 3-star introduction. With precession correction (up to 2040) Northern Hemisphere: Arctic Star, UMi, 51Cep Southern Hemisphere: Oct, Oct, Oct

Field illumination: Built-in dark field illumination with automatic extinguishing (with 8-stage dimming)
